Artist's statement: My objective is to concentrate on design and balance enhanced by color.
Monotype: A unique, original work of art created through a combination of painting and printmaking
techniques. The one-of-a-kind image is developed on an unaltered, flat plate using oil or water based media
and transferred by hand or a press onto another surface, usually paper. A single original image is obtained.

One of Arvid's monotypes, titled "Witnesses" was accepted to the 2012 National Print
Exhibition at Pacific Lutheran University. The theme of the exhibition is "The Human
Experience." The show opens in the University Gallery on February 8 and runs to March 7.
